About Wellmont Health System
Wellmont Health System is a leading healthcare provider in the Tri-Cities region of Northeast Tennessee and Southwest Virginia. Formed in 1996 with the merger of Holston Valley Medical Center in Kingsport, Tenn., and Bristol Regional Medical Center in Bristol, Tenn., Wellmont is a not-for-profit, integrated health system guided by the mission to deliver superior health care with compassion and a vision to deliver the best health care anywhere.
Wellmont has grown steadily since its inception, developing a regional network of hospitals and healthcare facilities serving patients in Kingsport, Bristol, Johnson City and surrounding communities in Northeast Tennessee and Southwest Virginia. Today, thousands of caregivers and hundreds of physicians help contribute to Wellmont’s Healing Environment every day, focusing on curing diseases and healing patients.
Wellmont provides a continuum of services ranging from community-based acute care to highly specialized tertiary services, including nationally recognized cardiology care from the Wellmont CVA Heart Institute and the region’s only Level One Heart Attack Network. Wellmont also offers the region’s most advanced robotic surgery program using CyberKnife and the da Vinci Surgical System, cares for some of the region’s tiniest patients in its Level III neonatal intensive care unit and is the only health system in the state of Tennessee to offer two major trauma centers. WellmontOne Air Transport provides air ambulance service for the critically injured, and the registered nurses at Wellmont Nurse Connection help answer medical questions and provide physician referrals 24 hours a day, seven days a week at 1-877-230-NURSE.
Wellmont also serves as the regional affiliate for Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals and supports Susan G. Komen for the Cure.
