Founded in 1996 with the vision "to be a national model of excellence for the provision of healthcare and wellness services," Wellmont Health System is the premier healthcare provider in the Tri-State region of Northeast Tennessee, Southwest Virginia and Southeast Kentucky. The not-for-profit, integrated healthcare delivery system is comprised of Holston Valley Medical Center in Kingsport, Tenn., Bristol Regional Medical Center in Bristol, Tenn., Mountain View Regional Medical Center in Norton, Va., Takoma Regional Hospital in Greeneville, Tenn., Lee Regional Medical Center in Pennington Gap, Va., Lonesome Pine Hospital in Big Stone Gap, Va., Hawkins County Memorial Hospital in Rogersville, Tenn., Jenkins Community Hospital in Jenkins, Ky., Hancock County Hospital in Sneedville, Tenn., Holston Valley Regional Children’s Hospital and Center in Kingsport, Tenn., Wellmont HealthSouth in Kingsport, Tenn., and Wellmont Ridgeview in Bristol, Va. Wellmont's broad scope of services ranges from community-based acute care to highly specialized tertiary services including neonatal intensive care and two trauma centers.
Complementing the services provided by each Wellmont hospitals are other facilities within the system. Wellmont Madison House, located in Kingsport, provides assisted living and a therapeutic day program for frail elderly persons and mid-life adults with a chronic illness. Medical care in the home is provided 24 hours a day, seven days a week, through Wellmont Home Care. And Wellmont Hospice House in Bristol offers care for terminally ill patients in a comfortable environment.
Wellmont Wellness Center, also located in Bristol, is a 50,000-square-foot facility that offers a wide variety of aerobic and education classes utilizing the latest advances in exercise technology.
Wellmont Health System is governed by a volunteer Board of Directors made up of physicians, business and community leaders. In addition, a Community Board of Directors at each hospital provides guidance and input.
Wellmont is one of the region's largest employers with a staff of 4,500 dedicated professionals. Nearly 600 physicians deliver care at Wellmont facilities across Northeast Tennessee and Southwest Virginia.
