1996 - Wellmont Health System forms with the full-asset merger of Bristol Regional Medical Center (Bristol, Tenn.) and Holston Valley Medical Center (Kingsport, Tenn).
1997 - Lonesome Pine Hospital (Big Stone Gap, Va.) becomes the third partner in Wellmont Health System.
2000 - Hawkins County Memorial Hospital (Rogersville, Tenn.) joins the growing family of Wellmont hospitals.
2005 - Hancock County Hospital opens as a Wellmont hospital to serve the community of Sneedville, Tenn., and surrounding area.
2007 - Four additional medical facilities join Wellmont Health System: Takoma Regional Hospital (Greeneville, Tenn.), Jenkins Community Hospital (Jenkins, Ky.), Mountain View Regional Medical Center (Norton, Va.), Lee Regional Medical Center (Pennington Gap, Va).
2008 – Two additional hospitals join Wellmont Health System as clinical affiliates: Clinch Valley Medical Center (Richlands, Va.) and Wythe County Community Hospital (Wytheville, Va.).
