    What is a Nurse Tech 4?

    Wellmont Health System's Nurse Tech 4 program can help you launch your professional career in nursing.

    Nurse Tech 4 is a 12-week program. During this time, students will be assigned to a preceptor on one unit for one twelve-hour shift per week.

    To qualify for the Nurse Tech 4 program, you must:

    • Be a student in good standing with a 3.0 minimum GPA and a May 2018 RN graduation date. GPA of 3.0 must be met at time of application and maintained.
    • Apply, as described below, before the Oct. 15, 2017, application deadline.

    How do I get started?

    STEP 1 – Hard copy application to the Nurse Tech 4 program

    Interested candidates must complete and submit all information – including your official school transcripts and two faculty reference forms completed by your teachers – in the appropriate application packet:

    Transcripts and references will be considered official when delivered using one of the following methods:

    • Please mail forms for Bristol Regional Medical Center, Lonesome Pine Hospital and Mountain View Regional Medical Center to:

    • Mailing by the school of a copy of the official transcript to above address.

    Note: Each faculty reference must be in a sealed envelope and signed across the seal by the faculty member completing the form. Transcript must be official transcripts.

    If you are a current Wellmont employee, one reference must come from your Wellmont supervisor.

    If you were a Nurse Tech 2, you do not have to submit references.

    STEP 2 – Online application for a Nurse Tech 4 position

    In addition to the application packet, candidates must complete an an online application.

    In the job description, one Nurse Tech 4 job will be posted for Bristol Regional, Lonesome Pine and Mountain View. The other will be posted for Holston Valley, Hawkins County Memorial, Hancock County Hospital and Takoma.
