    The nursing internship program is a 12-week program. During this time, students will be assigned to a preceptor on one unit for one twelve-hour shift per week.

    Qualifications and deadlines for application

    Spring 2016 graduates’ applications are due by October 15, 2015.

    Transcripts will be considered official when delivered using one of the following methods:

    • Official transcripts may be personally delivered in a sealed envelope to the Holston Valley Medical Center Department of Clinical Effectiveness and Education located at 914 Broad Street in Kingsport, Tenn. This department is located in the basement level of the building.
    • The school may mail a copy of the official transcript to the attention of Betty Jackson or Anne Hammonds at Wellmont Health System, Holston Valley Medical Center, Department of Clinical Effectiveness and Education, 914 Broad Street in Kingsport, Tenn.

    To qualify, you must be a student in good standing and submit a completed application with your official school transcripts and two faculty reference forms completed by your teachers. Faculty references must be in a sealed envelope and signed across the seal by the faculty member completing the form.

    If you are a current Wellmont employee, one reference must come from your Wellmont supervisor. If you were a summer nurse extern, you do not have to submit references.
