The mission of Wellmont Health System’s PGY1 pharmacy residency program at
Holston Valley Medical Center in Kingsport, Tenn. is to foster and promote optimal drug therapy and improve the quality of life for individuals requiring and receiving health care.
Residents enrolled in the program will be trained by expert pharmacists who are skilled in traditional and inpatient pharmacological services.
PGY1 pharmacy residency programs build on Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D.) education and outcomes to contribute to the development of clinical pharmacists responsible for medication-related care of patients with a wide range of conditions. These pharmacists will be eligible for board certification and postgraduate year two (PGY2) pharmacy residency training.
Holston Valley’s pharmacy residency program offers competitive salaries and benefits for its residents.
