Nursing Internship Program

Qualifications and deadlines for application
Nurses participating in the summer nurse externship program do not need to supply additional faculty references but must submit an online application for each hospital and provide an official transcript from the college. Transcripts will be considered official when delivered using one of the following methods.
- Official transcripts may be personally delivered in a sealed envelope to the Holston Valley Medical Center human resources department office located at 130 West Ravine Street in Kingsport, Tenn.
- The college registration department may fax a copy of the official transcript directly to the attention of the nurse recruiter in human resources at (423) 224-6419.
- The school may mail a copy of the official transcript to the attention of the nurse recruiter at Wellmont Health System, P.O. Box 238, Kingsport, TN 37660.
May graduates’ applications are due by October 15 of the semester prior to graduation. December graduates’ applications are due by June 15 of the summer before graduation.
To qualify, you must be a student in good standing with a minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA and submit a completed application with your official school transcripts and two letters of recommendation from your teachers. Faculty references must be in a sealed envelope. If you participated in the summer nurse externship program, you do not need to supply additional faculty references.
