Our Stories

Wellmont Health System has a diverse, multi-generational nursing staff and those nurses have much to tell one another about their great heritage.

This story never ends. They don’t “take off” being nurses when they change from their scrubs and take off their name badges. They are nurses in their neighborhoods, their children’s schools and in their churches. Once they become nurses, they are always nurses.

Wellmont nurses are proud of being in a profession that is one of the most respected in the county. They’re proud that being a nurse means they give to others every day and that what they do has the power to impact the lives of others.

You’ll see that pride here.

Passionate About Providing

You’ll find in these stories the love they have for others and the real sense of commitment and joy that is the purest, most fundamental part of the profession. For, even today in this new century with technology unheard of just a few years ago, and with constantly improving drugs and treatments to treat and heal us, their touch and concern are often the most important thing they bring to patients.
They understand they are more than all these drugs and treatments and new technology they have to help provide care. To be a nurse is to be a human being who cares for another human being in a time of anxiety, pain and fear.

You’ll likely identify with them. Hopefully, you’ll join them.
