Residency Hospitals
Mountain View Regional Medical Center has served Norton, Va., and the surrounding area since 1948. The hospital, a 133-bed facility, joined the Wellmont system in 2007. Mountain View provides a wide range of inpatient and outpatient services, including 24-hour emergency services, medical, surgical and intensive care, surgical services, long-term care, occupational health services, cardiac rehab and orthopedics.
Lee Regional Medical Center joined the Wellmont system in 2007. The community hospital, an 80-bed facility that serves the citizens of Pennington Gap, Va., and surrounding areas, has been in operation for more than 70 years. Lee Regional provides 24-hour emergency services, as well as a broad array of inpatient and outpatient medical and surgical services. The hospital also offers rehabilitation services.
Lonesome Pine Hospital, Big Stone Gap, Va., celebrated its 10th anniversary as a member of the Wellmont system in 2007. The community hospital, which has been recognized as one of the nation’s Top 100 hospitals for performance improvement, provides a full spectrum of healthcare services including emergency care, intensive care, obstetrics, outpatient services and cancer care at the Southwest Virginia Cancer Center. In 2007, Lonesome Pine embarked on a $5 million expansion and improvement project that will more than double the size of the emergency department.
Holston Valley Medical Center, Kingsport, Tenn., is a founding member of the Wellmont system. The tertiary hospital has provided care to residents of the Tri-State region since 1935. Services include a Level I trauma center, a Level III neonatal intensive care unit, a Top 100 heart program and a dedicated cancer center. The hospital is undergoing a $110 million renovation and expansion project.
Bristol Regional Medical Center, Bristol, Tenn. is a state-of-the-art facility that has been in service for nearly a century. The tertiary referral center offers the region’s only Cyberknife and the hospital is home to Tennessee’s only Level II trauma center. The stroke center at Bristol Regional, the region’s first certified primary stroke center, serves as the hub of the Appalachian Regional Stroke Center Network.
