    7/30/14 - The Wellmont Health System Board of Directors has narrowed the list of potential health system partners from six to three, including a regional system and two significant health systems beyond the region, all of which are not-for-profit organizations.
    Page McClanahan Joins Wellmont Medical Associates In Johnson City As Nurse Practitioner

    7/23/14 - Page McClanahan, an experienced family nurse practitioner, is joining Wellmont Medical Associates’ Johnson City office. McClanahan brings 18 years of medical care to the office, which also includes the practices of Dr. Rita Plemmons, a medical doctor, and Aimee Hurd, another family nurse practitioner.

    7/23/14 - Blood donations are especially important in the summer because activities during this season tend to carry a risk for injury. Donors with an O-negative blood type are particularly welcome, as their blood can be used for any patient.

    Wellmont’s System Director Of Flight Services Reappointed To Virginia EMS Advisory Board

    7/16/14 - Anita Perry, system director of flight services at Wellmont Health System, has been reappointed to serve on the Virginia Emergency Medical Services Advisory Board. The board makes recommendations to the governor, the General Assembly and Virginia’s Office of Emergency Medical Services on policies, plans, procedures and proposed regulations to improve the statewide EMS system.

    How can I obtain the condition of a patient in a Wellmont Health System hospital?

    When a patient is considered a “news patient,” the patient’s general condition (one-word description) may be made available to the media. Information regarding the patient’s condition will only be released when the reporter supplies the patient’s full name. Mass casualty cases may be an exception.

    If the patient is a minor (younger than 18), no information will be released without the consent of a parent or legal guardian.
