Wellmont Health System, the Appalachian School of Law (ASL) and the Sorensen
Institute for Political Leadership, are proud to
present a healthcare symposium to be held on Monday, Sept. 22, 2014, in the
Monarch Auditorium at Bristol Regional Medical Center in Bristol, Tenn.
symposium agenda will address the future of health care and will bring diverse
stakeholders together to engage in an informed and spirited discussion about
one of the most pressing challenges facing our country and our region today.
The information presented by each of the speakers will build on an earlier forum that ASL co-presented with Wellmont concerning the constitutionality of the Affordable Care Act. That forum, held in 2012, brought together government officials, industry representatives, and academicians to offer a balanced, legally informed and economically mindful discourse on the issues and challenges surrounding the ACA. The panelists provided rigorous analysis, reasoned comments, and respectful dialogue.
By working together to present this symposium, ASL, Sorensen, and Wellmont hope to combine their respective commitments in a way that connects, enlightens and advance the cause of affordable, high-quality health care.
Applications will be filed in advance of the symposium for CLE credit in Virginia, Tennessee and Kentucky. For attorneys, 6.0 hours of CLE credit has been approved for Kentucky, Tennessee, and Virginia. For human resource professionals, this program has been submitted to the Human Resources Certification Institute for review with a request for 5.5 hours of credit.
Sponsorship opportunities are available at various levels for those who are interested.
