Brachytherapy

Brachytherapy is a treatment option for some prostate, lung, cervical, head and neck cancer patients. During the procedure, tiny radioactive seeds are implanted directly into tumors and deliver a highly concentrated dose of radiation to the cancerous area. Surrounding healthy tissues are spared radiation exposure.

The procedure is available at Holston Valley Medical Center and Bristol Regional Medical Center.
