Neonatal Intensive Care Unit
Since 1935, Holston Valley Medical Center has been an innovator in pediatric care, with state-of-the-art services available to newborns and their families. We opened Northeast Tennessee’s first Neonatal Intensive Care Unit 20 years ago, and our expertise continues to grow. Our Level III Neonatal Intensive Care Unit has 15 dedicated beds, and our skilled physicians and staff care for babies delivered as early as 24 weeks—newborns requiring the very highest level of care in order to thrive. The specially certified NICU medical team also provides these important services to ensure the safety and wellbeing of your newborn:
- Hearing screenings for all newborns
- Car seat “challenge” test for babies prior to their ride home
The NICU at Holston Valley Medical Center further benefits patients through our partnership with the Vermont Oxford NICU Network, an organization that continuously works to improve the quality and safety of care to newborns and their families.
