What is Diabetes?
Diabetes is a disease in which the body either does not produce insulin or does not properly use insulin. Insulin is a hormone needed to convert sugar, starches and other foods into the energy we need for daily life.
What causes diabetes? Genetics as well as environmental factors, such as obesity and lack of exercise, play key roles in determining whether you will develop diabetes.
