Psychiatric Services

Wellmont Health System provides a wide range of psychiatric services in Bristol, Tenn., and Bristol, Va. Traditional psychiatric services are offered at Ridgeview Pavilion, while a medical psychiatry unit is available at Bristol Regional Medical Center for individuals facing both medical and emotional or psychological conditions.

Ridgeview Pavilion

Ridgeview Pavilion is a 28-bed, secured adult inpatient psychiatric facility. Inpatient programming is targeted toward short-term crisis intervention, medication assessment and stabilization. Services are designed to encourage the least restrictive and structured level of care that is clinically appropriate. Coordination with outside clinicians, community service boards and families of patients helps ensure smooth movement among levels of care, encouraging transition back to community-based life and the home environment.

Ridgeview Pavilion offers a wide range of psychiatric services.

  • Comprehensive psychiatric evaluation
  • Case management and outpatient referral services to Bristol, Kingsport and Southwest Virginia 
  • Board certified psychiatrists, adult and geriatric psychiatry 
  • Treatment for depression, anxiety, pain and all psychiatric disorders 
  • Intensive, short-term hospitalization 
  • Involuntary commitment 
  • Individual and family therapy

Medical psychiatry unit

Bristol Regional Medical Center’s medical psychiatry floor is a 12-bed unit for adult patients requiring acute medical services as well as treatment for emotional or psychological conditions. The medical psychiatry unit, like Ridgeview Pavilion, is available to serve and support the psychiatric needs of patients in and around Northeast Tennessee and Southwest Virginia.

Consultative services are also provided throughout Bristol Regional for medical patients with psychiatric needs.
