Wellmont Health System's experienced speech therapists are specially trained to diagnose and treat of a variety of speech, voice and language disorders. These caring experts can help with fluency, rhythm or speech-quality problems.
Speech disorders can have a number of causes:

Because speech disorders are often related to neurological, psychological or physical conditions, Wellmont's care teams may include a primary care physician, neurologist or psychiatrist in addition to a speech therapist. Each member of this team plays a vital role in supporting and counseling patients and their families on how to cope with the many challenges that may be experienced with speech disorders.
