In fact, the Primary Stroke Center at Bristol Regional Medical Center has attained advanced certification by The Joint Commission for meeting and seeking to maintain high standards in stroke care.
The Wellmont approach includes inpatient and outpatient treatment, with a continuity of care from stroke onset through rehabilitation. Physical therapists help patients increase range of motion, while occupational therapists help regain the skills necessary for everyday activities and speech therapists work to re-establish communication skills that may have been affected.
