Sometimes the most critical moments for your child are those spent in transit to or from the hospital. Those moments matter to Wellmont, which is why we make the best transport services available to our pediatric patients. Through our partnership with the Virginia State Police, we offer Med-Flight II air transport service. And through our partnership with Children’s Miracle Network, we have a special children’s ambulance equipped with the latest life-support equipment for infants and children. When necessary, the ambulance travels with a special medical transport support team consisting of:
- EMS personnel
- Neonatal/pediatrics nurse
- Respiratory therapist
- Neonatal intensive care physician
