At Wellmont, we know that managing your diabetes involves medical as well as educational support. Through our Diabetes Treatment Center—the region’s only hospital-based diabetes program accredited by the American Diabetes Association—we offer self-management classes taught by specially trained registered nurses, dieticians and certified diabetes educators. We’ll help you understand the disease, show you how to monitor your blood glucose and explain more about the importance of nutrition, exercise and foot care.
Treatment Center Locations
Our Diabetes Treatment Center offices are located at Bristol Regional Medical Center and Holston Valley Medical Center. Outreach programs are also available at Lonesome Pine Hospital, Takoma Regional Hospital, Hawkins County Memorial Hospital and Hancock County Hospital.
