Wellmont's System Director Of Flight Services Reappointed To Virginia EMS Advisory Board
Anita Perry, system director of flight services at Wellmont Health System, has been reappointed to serve on the Virginia Emergency Medical Services Advisory Board.
The board makes recommendations to the governor, the General Assembly and Virginia's Office of Emergency Medical Services on policies, plans, procedures and proposed regulations to improve the statewide EMS system. Perry has served on the board since 2011.
"I am honored to continue working collaboratively with other experienced personnel in Virginia to advance the quality of emergency medical services in the commonwealth," Perry said. "Wellmont has a remarkable flight team and other innovative emergency medical professionals, and I am privileged to represent our forward-thinking organization."
In addition to this appointment, Perry sits on the board of directors of the Southwest Virginia Emergency Medical Services Council. She has also served as a member of the Tennessee and Virginia state medical evacuation committees.
Perry has enjoyed a successful career with Wellmont. Not only does she oversee the WellmontOne Air Transport program, she also supervises the medical flight team, which consists of Wellmont co-workers, on Med-Flight II, a service of the Virginia State Police.
Perry received the 2012 Governor's Award for Nurse with Outstanding Contribution to EMS. In 2013, she was recognized as one of The Business Journal of Tri-Cities Tennessee/Virginia's 40 Under Forty, an annual awards program that highlights the region's outstanding young professionals.
