Wellmont Senior Vice President Named To Virginia Hospital
& Healthcare Association Board Of Directors
David Brash, Wellmont
Health System’s senior vice president of business development and
rural strategy, has been appointed to the Virginia
Hospital & Healthcare Association’s board of directors.
The association is an alliance of hospitals and health
delivery systems that develops and advocates healthcare policy for Virginia.
The organization seeks high-quality, high-value health care that leads to
optimal health and ensures the commonwealth is the healthiest state in the
nation.
“We are proud of David for receiving this important
appointment and bringing the voices of our patients and system to the table,”
said Denny DeNarvaez, Wellmont’s president and CEO. “David has extensive ties
in Virginia and has a firm grasp of Southwest Virginia’s healthcare needs. He
will provide valuable guidance on healthcare policy and the way it impacts our
region.”
Brash, a Lebanon, Va., resident, has served as a senior vice
president for Wellmont since May. Prior to that promotion, he had served as a
regional vice president since 2008, Mountain View
Regional Medical Center’s president since 2007 and Lonesome Pine
Hospital’s president since 2010.
In addition to Mountain View Regional and Lonesome Pine,
Wellmont facilities in the commonwealth include Lee Regional
Medical Center and the Southwest
Virginia Cancer Center. Wellmont also has multiple primary care
physician offices, Wellmont
Urgent Care, the Wellmont CVA
Heart Institute and other services throughout Southwest Virginia.
“This appointment is an honor for me and Wellmont because
the Virginia Hospital & Healthcare Association is a highly respected
organization,” Brash said. “I appreciate the opportunity to participate in the
development of healthcare policy that will enhance the quality of life in our
region. Wellmont is pleased to serve Southwest Virginia and welcomes this
opportunity to share the needs of our communities with the rest of the
commonwealth.”
