Holston Valley Supporting Kingsport’s 100th Birthday by Placing Special Sign at Top of Parking Garage
Jan. 17, 2017 – Demonstrating its close ties to the Kingsport community,
Holston Valley Medical Center is contributing to the city’s centennial celebration in a special and meaningful way.
Members of the hospital’s plant operations department recently installed a lighted sign atop the parking garage on Cassel Drive that displays the number 100. The sign was lit during the New Year’s Eve party in downtown Kingsport when the clock struck midnight, launching a yearlong community observation of the city’s 100th birthday.
“Kingsport has continually set a standard for excellence among municipalities, and Holston Valley has been honored to serve the community for more than 80 years with high-quality care,” said Tim Attebery, the hospital’s president. “When the city offered us the sign after the New Year’s Eve event, we were thrilled to dedicate one of our highest elevation points to this momentous period in Kingsport’s history. It’s just one of the ways we can express our pleasure about being part of this outstanding community.”
The sign will remain on the parking garage and be lit at night for the rest of the year.
Holston Valley is one of the legacy sponsors supporting community events throughout 2017 to recognize the city’s centennial. It continues the tradition of the hospital having a warm relationship with Kingsport and the people who rely on the facility to improve their health.
“Holston Valley has been a fabulous partner for the city and has enhanced our reputation with the world-class care it delivers every day,” said John Clark, Kingsport’s mayor. “Whether the hospital is supporting community events or introducing innovative procedures and technology to strengthen the quality of care in the community, Holston Valley has made us an attractive place to live and work. We appreciate the hospital for stepping forward to help the community mark this occasion in such a demonstrable manner.”
