Dr. Leon Bass Adds High-Quality Sleep Care For Children To Wellmont Medical Associates Pulmonology & Sleep
Dr. Leon Bass,
a pulmonologist, has joined Wellmont
Medical Associates Pulmonology
& Sleep and will play a pivotal role in helping the region’s
children sleep better.
Dr. Bass will treat adults and pediatric patients who are
older than 6 and suffer from sleep disorders due to chronic sleep apnea or
attention deficit hyperactivity disorder. Pediatric patients with sleep apnea

location of Wellmont Medical Associates Pulmonology & Sleep, Dr. Bass will
see patients at 111 W. Stone Dr., Suite 100. He will also see patients at 110
W. Main St., Suite 3, Lebanon, Va., and 1980 Holton Ave., Big Stone Gap, Va.
Dr. Bass can also see adult and pediatric patients for a
variety of lung conditions.

Dr. Bass graduated from Ross University School of Medicine
on the Caribbean island of Dominica. He completed an internship and residency
in internal medicine and a fellowship in pulmonary disease and critical care,
all at Medical College of Georgia in Augusta.
Board-certified in internal medicine, pulmonary disease and
critical care, he is fellowship-trained in sleep medicine and has received
specialized training to treat pediatric patients for this condition. Dr. Bass
is a member of the American College of Chest Physicians, the Society of
Critical Care Medicine and the American Academy of Sleep Medicine.
"To treat a patient, you have to listen,” Dr. Bass
said. “You can't just hear what they're saying. You have to listen and work
together to create a plan that addresses their symptoms or illness.
"I always try to treat patients with the same
compassion I would want from a physician. It's vital to form a lasting
relationship with patients so you can provide them with the very best care.”
