Chico’s Helps Save Lives With Event To Support Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals
Women who are looking to update their wardrobe and men who
want to buy something special for a family member can also help make miracles
happen for sick and injured children.
On Thursday, May 17, Chico’s, a women’s clothing and
accessories store at 3020 Franklin Terrace Drive, will donate 10 percent of the
money from purchases to Children’s Miracle Network
Hospitals. The store will have door prizes and other activities as
well.
All money raised by Children’s Miracle Network stays local. Wellmont Health System is the affiliate of
Children’s Miracle Network for Northeast Tennessee and Southwest Virginia.
Wellmont will use the funds to purchase state-of-the-art equipment for its
pediatric and neonatal intensive care programs, fund lifesaving research and
support community education programs.
“This is a great way for us to give back to the community,”
said Becca Cash, manager of Chico’s in Johnson City. “As many of our shoppers
are mothers, I know they’re touched by the challenges that face some of
Wellmont’s smallest patients.”
The store will be open that day from 10 a.m. until 9 p.m.
“We appreciate Chico’s investment in our region’s children,”
said Todd Norris, Wellmont's senior vice president of system advancement. “As a
not-for-profit health system, we partner with the communities we serve to
improve the lives of children who are entrusted to our care.”
Chico’s has stores around the country and is a national
sponsor of Children’s Miracle Network.
Another upcoming event is the annual Children’s Miracle
Network celebration, which will be held Sunday, June 3, from 7-11 p.m. and be
televised by WJHL 11 Connects.
