Chico's Helps Save Lives With Children's Miracle Network Fundraiser

Women updating their wardrobes and men buying gifts for the women in their lives can also help make miracles happen for sick and injured children.

Chico's, a women's clothing and accessories store at 3020 Franklin Terrace Drive, Johnson City, will donate to Children's Miracle Network Hospitals 10 percent of the money from purchases made Thursday, May 15. The store will have additional donation opportunities at registers.

All money raised by Children's Miracle Network stays local. Wellmont Health System is the affiliate of Children's Miracle Network for Northeast Tennessee and Southwest Virginia. Wellmont uses proceeds to purchase equipment for its pediatric departments, neonatal intensive care unit and emergency departments and to fund community partnerships that advance children's health.

Chico's shoppers can also support Children's Miracle Network by purchasing the limited-edition Miracle Key necklace, either in the store or online at Chico's will donate $10 for every necklace sold and an additional $1 for online shoppers who use the Send a Smile function to create encouraging notes for hospitalized children.

"We appreciate Chico's investment in our region's children," said Todd Norris, Wellmont's senior vice president of system advancement and president of Wellmont Foundation. "As a not-for-profit health system, Wellmont's partnerships with the communities we serve are vital as we improve the lives of children entrusted to our care."

Philanthropy funds will also be used for Holston Valley Medical Center and Wellmont Foundation's recently launched $2.5 million project to enhance the quality of care newborns receive in the NICU. Through the Next Generation fundraising campaign, Holston Valley will add valuable services and provide more space and comfort for patients and families.
