CHILDREN'S MIRACLE NETWORK RAISES NEARLY $500,000 FOR CHILDREN'S HEALTH SERVICES DURING CELEBRATION

KINGSPORT – Area residents performed miracles and set records during the 2007 Children’s Miracle Network celebration, donating nearly a half-million dollars to support children’s healthcare services.

Through corporate donations and individual pledges received during a live broadcast Saturday, June 2, area residents raised $496,260 for CMN. All of those dollars will stay in the region to provide medical equipment, services and treatment to children throughout the Tri-Cities.

Wellmont Health System serves as the regional affiliate for the Children’s Miracle Network.

The Children’s Miracle Network was developed in 1983 to help improve quality of life for sick children. Each year the organization raises millions of dollars for children’s hospitals. CMN represents 170 children’s hospitals around the nation, including those in the Wellmont Health System.

The local CMN broadcast is an annual celebration that gives miracle kids and their families a chance to thank the people who made their miracle stories possible.
