It’s often difficult to find convenient,
skilled child care in a safe and nurturing environment – especially for
working professionals. We’re proud to offer a state-of-the-art program
to meet your child’s needs with extended hours to accommodate your busy
lifestyle.
The Wellmont Child Development Center
promotes physical, social, cognitive and emotional development through
all stages of a child’s development. Our philosophy is based on
developmentally appropriate practices and the belief that children learn
through real experiences. This is why our classrooms incorporate
creative play, music, art, science, math and much more.
In 1999, YWCA of Bristol partnered with
Wellmont Health System to operate the Wellmont Child Development Center
on the campus of Bristol Regional Medical Center. Licensed by the state
of Tennessee, our on-site center is designed to serve the children of
healthcare workers within Wellmont Health System. Additional openings
are available to parents in need of child care within our community.

The Wellmont Child Development Center offers many unique features including:
- Secure facility with video monitoring
- Extended hours for working parents
- Curriculum-based pre-K program to prepare children for kindergarten
- Age-appropriate outdoor play areas
- Classroom computers
- Three nutritious meals each day
A “Three Star Quality” program – the highest rating available – and licensed by the state of Tennessee, we accept children from 6 weeks to 5 years of age year round. Care is also available for children up to age 12 during school breaks.

The Wellmont Child Development Center is a result of dedication, perseverance and joint commitment to excellence in child care. Wellmont recognizes the need for quality child care at an affordable price and sees this family-friendly program as an important service to our employees and community. This partnership with the YWCA aligns two community-based organizations with similar missions of providing high-quality community care and builds on the extensive experience of the YWCA in child development. The Wellmont Child Development Center is managed by YWCA Bristol. Hours are 6:30 a.m. – 7:30 p.m., Monday - Friday.
