    Wexford guidelines and transition tips

    • Residents are encouraged to bring personal items during their stay. Enjoy visiting with family and friends in the beautifully decorated facility or exterior courtyard areas.
    • Please do not bring cleaning chemicals into Wexford House. Bleach and other household cleaners can be a safety hazard and are not allowed. These items will be removed from the rooms. If residents need something cleaned, please ask housekeeping staff. They will be happy to assist you.
    • Please have any personal items such as wheelchairs, walkers, recliners, televisions, hairdryers, etc. checked in and tagged as “personal” and with the resident’s name by maintenance or central supply staff. This will help avoid them being misplaced. Untagged items might be assumed to belong to Wexford House and switched out with someone else unknowingly, used in other areas of the facility or stored in the warehouse.
    • For the safety of our residents and the facility, all decorations and artificial flower arrangements brought in to the facility need to be sprayed with a flame retardant. We do conduct audits routinely to check on these items. If you currently have any such items that haven’t been sprayed, please contact the maintenance staff, which will spray these items and tag them for you.
    • Smoking in the courtyards and on Wexford House porches of is prohibited. If you are visiting, you must smoke inside your vehicle.
    • Please do not bring in any medications from outside the facility. This is a safety issue. We want to provide the safest environment possible for everyone, and these items pose a risk to residents and staff alike.
