    Transition tips

    • Residents are encouraged to bring personal items during their stay and enjoy visiting with family and friends in the beautifully decorated facility or exterior courtyard areas.
    • Please do not bring in cleaning chemicals. We are finding that some residents have cleaning chemicals in their rooms, such as bleach and other household cleaners. This is a safety hazard and such items are not allowed. These items will be removed from the rooms immediately. If residents need something cleaned, please ask housekeeping staff and they will be happy to assist you.
    • Anytime that you bring in personal equipment, such as wheelchairs, walkers, recliners, televisions, hairdryers, etc. These items must be checkin in and tagged "personal" in order to avoid misplacement of the items. If these items are not tagged "personal" with the residents name, then we assume that the equipment belongs to Wexford House and the items may get switched out with someone else unknowingly or may be used in other areas of the facility, then stored in the warehouse. Please have any personal items checked in and tagged by maintenance staff and/or central supply staff.
    • For the safety of our residents and the facility, all decorations and artificial flower arrangements that are brought in to the facility need to be checked in and sprayed with a flame retardant. We do conduct audits routinely to check on these items. This is not a new guideline and it must be enforced for the safety of all residents. If you currently have any items that have been brought in and have not been sprayed with the flame retardant, please contact the maintenance staff and they will spray these items and tag them for you.
    • Smoking in the courtyards and on the porches of Wexford House is prohibited. If you are visiting, you must smoke inside your vehicle.
    • Please do not bring in any medications from outside the facility. This is a safety issue. We at Wexford House want to provide the safest environment possible for everyone and these items pose a risk to residents and staff alike.
