Support through Wellmont Foundation can help make miracles happen

At Holston Valley Medical Center, premature babies are given life-saving interventions and care. At Bristol Regional Medical Center, children are learning to walk with the help of a cutting-edge movement apparatus.

Wellmont Health System is able to acquire these ultramodern tools for its pediatric, neonatal intensive care and emergency departments as the regional affiliate of Children's Miracle Network Hospitals. For more than 25 years, patients at Wellmont hospitals have received the resources and treatments they need for a fighting chance at healthy, happy lives.

Purchases made with Children's Miracle Network funds - which range from the state-of-the-art equipment such as the LiteGait Trainer at Bristol Regional, to simple supplies such as new rocking chairs for Holston Valley's neonatal intensive care unit - are made possible through support from Wellmont Foundation.

Throughout the year, Wellmont Foundation generates attention and donations for Children's Miracle Network through events such as its annual telethon and Wellmont's Employee Giving Campaign and the Cooking for Kids program.

"The enduring partnership between Wellmont, Children's Miracle Network and our region is a hallmark of our care," said Todd Norris, Wellmont's senior vice president of system advancement. "Our communities are committed to high-quality care for children, and through their support, we're able to provide vital, high-quality services and support initiatives in our region that improve the region's quality of life."
