Dr. Abu-Shahin earned his medical degree at the University of Jordan School of Medicine in Amman, Jordan. He completed an internship at A-Salt Hospital/Ministry of Health in Jordan and residencies at King Hussein Cancer Center in Jordan and at East Tennessee State University in Johnson City, Tenn. He also completed a fellowship at East Tennessee State University. For Dr. Abu-Shahin, a patient’s peace of mind is of the utmost importance – especially when facing a serious illness such as cancer – because having peace of mind improves quality of life. He wants his patients to understand that a cancer diagnosis is not a death sentence. In addition to providing his medical expertise to patients, he also provides compassion.
