• What is the future of clinical trials?

Despite a multitude of new cancer treatment strategies from many groups, including the National Cancer Institute, advocacy groups and pharmaceutical industry, there has been only a modest amount of progress in the time it takes to implement and complete potentially monumental studies.

In the United States, only three to four percent of the population participate in clinical trials. As patient and physician demand for clinical trials increases in the coming years, it will be imperative to remove several existing barriers to enrollment in clinical trials.

The access of instant information through the internet will also continue to be a growing resource for both educating and recruiting patients for clinical trials.
