• Suffer with Varicose Veins? You Don’t Have to.

Non-surgical varicose vein treatment – in the Tri-Cities at The Vein Care Center

You aren't alone. More than 25 million Americans suffer from varicose veins. That includes almost 40% of women and 25% of men!

    Even, so…

…varicose veins can still make you uncomfortable wearing shorts – or a swim suit – when it's really too hot and uncomfortable outside not to.

More than just a cosmetic problem

What many people don't know is varicose veins often affect more than just your appearance.

Varicose veins can be very uncomfortable, causing fatigue, swelling of the ankles and progressively increasing pain. They can also lead to a number of other conditions, such as:

    • Chronic venous insufficiency
    • Hyperpigmentation
    • Lipodermosclerosis
    • Venous leg ulcers
    • Spontaneous bleeding
    • Superficial thrombophlebitis

The good news is – you can get relief.

How can we help with varicose veins?

Endovenous laser therapy in about an hour

Endovenous laser treatment is a virtually painless (for most people*), state-of-the-art procedure for treating varicose veins.

You might hear it called by many names: laser vein treatment, laser vein therapy, endovenous laser ablation – or just EVLT or EVLA.

    Why EVLT?

EVLT is a non-surgical technique that works for both women and men and offers several benefits:

    • Takes about an hour, often less
    • Is performed in the doctor's office
    • Has a very high success rate – actually 98.2% success in one review covering up to 5 years of follow-up after the procedure and 99.3% success in another survey after more than 2 years
    • Provides immediate relief of symptoms
    • Doesn't require general anesthesia or hospitalization
    • Causes minimal, if any, scarring
    • Is covered by most insurance plans – we can help find out if it's covered by yours

Bottom line:  EVLT is a safe, effective way to eliminate varicose veins.

    How does EVLT work?

    The endovenous laser treatment process

    1. First, a small incision is made in the diseased vein.
    1. Next, a very thin laser fiber is inserted into the incision.
    1. Once the fiber is positioned where the treatment needs to be given, the laser light delivers a small amount of thermal energy. This energy is just the right amount to close and seal the vein.
    1. The laser fiber is gradually pulled out until the entire diseased vein has been treated.

Once the vein is sealed, the blood automatically flows to and through other veins. This is safe because each treated vein really handles only a small amount of blood flow.

Most EVLT patients can get back to their normal activities on the day of the procedure.

Actually, many of them find they're back to normal immediately.*

The Vein Care Center offers varicose vein patients a safe, effective, non-surgical alternative to conventional surgical remedies and spider vein treatments.

    Insurance coverage

As noted above, endovenous laser treatment is covered by insurance in most cases.

Actually, there are much fewer insurance denials with laser therapy than with radiofrequency treatment, which is another common approach you might have heard of.

*Note: Results do vary from one person to another, and it's very hard to predict how any one patient will respond to the treatment. Though this is the case with only a small minority of patients, some will experience more than minimal discomfort or pain from the treatment and, in some cases, find that it takes a few days or even a few weeks before they feel totally "back to normal."
