Services
Emergency Center
When emergencies occur, you need quality heath care –
fast. At Takoma Regional, we believe emergency care should also mean exceptional care. From the moment you come through our doors, we’re here for you and your family with the medical help you need. And we are committed to being responsive to your needs. In fact, we guarantee you’ll be seen by a physician in 30 minutes or less.
Medical/Surgical
The period after a medical procedure is an extremely important time. For that reason, Takoma Regional has a highly trained medical/surgical team to help ensure recuperation proceeds as it should.
Hospitalists
Thanks to our dedicated team of hospitalists, our patients and their physicians can depend on a consistently excellent level of care. As physicians who specialize in inpatient medicine, hospitalists serve to keep personal physicians informed of the progress of their patients, while providing high-quality care during a patient’s hospital stay.
Pediatrics
A hospital can be frightening for children. Fortunately, we work with a variety of pediatric physicians in the area to ensure that our pediatric patients receive the care they need while having as pleasant an experience as possible. These efforts are supported by our team of outstanding dedicated nurses, who work tirelessly to help our young patients and their families.
Obstetrics
Women in labor have always had a tremendous amount of personal freedom at Takoma Regional. The philosophy of family-centered birthing is practiced here with a passion.
Takoma Regional provides all types of birthing and pain control options, allowing you to choose the kind of birth experience you want, as long as it is safe for you and your baby. And, since labor can be a long, arduous journey, we encourage moms to walk, rock, take hot showers, use the birthing ball or enjoy the hydrotherapy birthing tub.
Center for Inpatient Physical Rehabilitation
This center offers a transdisciplinary approach, providing physical, occupational and speech therapies to help patients get back to life, family and friends following illness or accidents such as stroke, orthopedic conditions (hip fractures, arthritis, amputations, joint replacements), major multiple trauma, neurological disorders (multiple sclerosis, Parkinson’s disease, muscular dystrophy), spinal cord or brain injury.
Outpatient Physical Rehabilitation
Following an accident or illness, patients can receive physical, occupational and speech therapy in this relaxed, fun, outpatient setting.
Center for Behavioral Health
The psychiatric inpatient program at Takoma Regional is a highly specialized program that addresses the behavioral needs of men and women 65 years of age or older. As we are living longer, we are facing more challenging healthcare problems, including depression, psychosis, panic and anxiety states and dementia. This center addresses those concerns through physician led medication management and by encouraging patients to communicate their emotional concerns through participation in expressive group therapy.
Outpatient Center for Behavioral Health
This center provides patient and family education, healthful life-management skills, dementia screenings, psychosocial and psychiatric evaluation and testing, individual counseling and medication management for adults over the age of 18.
Wound Healing/Hyperbaric Medicine
A wound that won’t heal needs more than just another bandage. It needs the expertise of a dedicated wound care team. The Center for Wound Healing and Hyperbaric Medicine at Takoma Regional provides this expertise with a comprehensive approach to the diagnosis and treatment of the problems associated with non-healing wounds.
Center for Sleep Disorders
Exhaustion, snoring, trouble concentrating and restless sleeping could all be signs of sleep apnea (breathing problems) or another serious sleep disorder. Fortunately, Takoma Regional has a specialized team of sleep professionals dedicated to providing the highest quality of sleep care available in our community.
