• Bryce and Benjamin Wooten, NICU patients

  •  Bryce and Benjamin Wooten

Little did the Wooten family know: their twin sons would come to embody their greatest miracle. Ten weeks before their due date, their mother, Stephanie, went into labor and rushed to the local emergency room in Whitesburg, Ky.

Because of the early gestation date, an ambulance was already waiting to transport the boys to Holston Valley so they could receive specialized medical attention.

Bryce had endured a lung collapse while Benjamin developed a severe brain bleed. Both boys stayed in Holston Valley’s NICU – Bryce for two months and Benjamin for two weeks longer than that.

To this day, the family is grateful for the excellent doctors and nurses who not only provided excellent care for their boys, but also for themselves as parents. The family has since returned to Whitesburg, where both boys continue to grow and flourish.
