"I still look at Courtney and think she is tiny, but alive. I couldn't imagine my life without her."

  • Courtney Good

When Martha Good remembers Sept. 14, 2006, her body goes cold. That was the day she went into labor with daughter Courtney - 15 weeks early.

Courtney spent more than four months in the NICU, receiving blood transfusions, fighting infections and being treated for bowel perforations, eating issues and apnea.

Since their initial stay, the Good family has remained frequent visitors to the NICU and pediatric floors. Each Christmas, Courtney's grandparents dress as Santa and Mrs. Claus, and with Courtney in tow, bring food and treats to the families and children spending their holiday in the hospital.

  • If the NICU has touched your life, or the life of someone you know, please consider enrolling in the Next Generation Campaign's Little Footprints Club and help babies in need for years to come.
