Since opening this state-of-the art facility in 1994, Bristol Regional Medical Center has served its communities through physician partnership, technological innovation and growth. Bristol Regional was the first hospital in the region to offer a digital cardiac catheterization lab and a Primary Stroke Center. Bristol Regional is also the region’s only hospital offering experienced physicians performing surgical procedures with two state-of-the-art robots – CyberKnife® and da Vinci®.
CareChex, a well-respected national quality rating service and division of Comparion, selected Bristol Regional among the top 100 hospitals in the nation for major neurological surgery and trauma care. Additionally, Bristol Regional was ranked in the top 10 percent in the state for heart attack, heart failure treatment and cancer care.

Located in the hospital’s J.D. and Lorraine Nicewonder Cancer Center, CyberKnife uses state-of-the-art robotic technology to treat life-threatening tumors that would otherwise be inoperable. And Bristol Regional also features the da Vinci Si Surgical System, introduced in 2009 by Intuitive Surgical, Inc., as part of its array of cutting-edge robotic treatments and tools. This version of the da Vinci Surgical System provides enhanced, high-definition 3D imagery for superior clinical capability.
