      The Southeast Cancer Control Consortium, based in Winston-Salem, N.C., recently approved the oncologists of Blue Ridge and Bristol Regional for membership. Kingsport Hematology Oncology and Holston Valley Medical Center have been affiliates of this organization since its inception in 1987.

      Children who have experienced the death of a loved one will receive comfort and support while learning how to accept this change and embrace the future at Wellmont Hospice’s annual Camp Caterpillar.

      Another source of hope will benefit area cancer patients and family members with the opening of the American Cancer Society’s Cancer Resource Center at Kingsport Hematology Oncology.

      Two Hair Salons Raise Thousands For Special Patient Fund Of Southwest Virginia Cancer Center

      The salons, which are owned by brothers Ted Barnette and Todd Barnette and their wives Karen and Crystal, sold raffle tickets for prizes and held a silent auction. They also gave away these proceeds and welcomed people to make additional donations.
