Four Wellmont leaders selected by the Tri-Cities Business Journal

Four professionals who are making their mark on Wellmont Health System and the community have earned recognition for their places among up-and-coming leaders in the region.

The Business Journal of Tri-Cities Tennessee/Virginia recently concluded its 40 Under Forty competition, an annual event that highlights talented individuals making an impact on Northeast Tennessee and Southwest Virginia.

The magazine held a ceremony at The Millennium Centre, and the following people with ties to Wellmont were honored.

    Garieann Fish, DO

Gastroenterologist on the Bristol Regional Medical Center medical staff

Dr. Garieann Fish is known for the compassion she shows to patients, as well as for going the extra mile for her hospital colleagues.

Dr. Fish advocates for the community’s well-being by volunteering with Healing Hands Health Center to provide colonoscopies at no charge to low-income patients. She has also served the community through multiple Junior League of Bristol programs.

    Joseph Foley, MD

Interventional cardiologist with the Wellmont CVA Heart Institute at Bristol Regional

Heart institute leaders highlight Dr. Joseph Foley’s combination of intellect and strength of character, as well as his dedication to patients.

Dr. Foley was instrumental in developing a multidisciplinary vascular team at Bristol Regional and establishing a specialized service at the hospital to treat patients with chronic, total coronary occlusions.

    Stacy Long

Director of surgical services at Bristol Regional

Stacy Long is responsible for nearly 150 co-workers in – and for ensuring a smooth case flow through – Bristol Regional’s 11 operating rooms.

In the community, she has coached basketball and volleyball, and she and her husband coach tee-ball.

    Janessa Sokol

Patient experience specialist at Holston Valley Medical Center
