In accordance with our policy and procedures, all news media professionals must
contact the marketing communications department before speaking with Wellmont
Health System co-workers or visiting our facilities.

3/25/15 - Women of all ages and health needs can access beneficial information and potentially collect prizes at Bristol Regional Medical Center's annual Women and Children's Expo.
The event will be held Saturday, April 11, from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m.
3/23/15 - An upcoming Marsh Regional Blood Center event will give residents an opportunity to help local high school students achieve their academic dreams. The only blood supplier based in Northeast Tennessee and Southwest Virginia is holding its second annual golf tournament Friday, April 24, to raise additional money for its scholarship program.
3/17/15 - Patients with a leaky mitral valve, a condition that can cause worsening heart failure, reduced quality of life and earlier death if untreated, have additional hope through a new procedure at Holston Valley Medical Center. Rahul Sakhuja, M.D., leads a team of physicians from the Wellmont CVA Heart Institute who can now repair the mitral valve using the MitraClip device.
3/16/15 - People in the region who might be at risk for developing diabetes and those who have already been diagnosed will benefit from an upcoming public information event at Holston Valley Medical Center. Wellmont Diabetes Treatment Centers will host a Diabetes Alert Day Health Fair on Tuesday, March 24, from 10 a.m. until 1 p.m.
3/13/15 - Area medical professionals interested in learning about the latest developments in brain and spinal care can expand their knowledge at Wellmont Health System's inaugural Neuroscience Conference. The event will be held Friday, April 24, at MeadowView Conference Resort & Convention Center in Kingsport.

When a patient is considered a “news patient,” the patient’s
general condition (one-word description) may be made available to the media. Information
regarding the patient’s condition will only be released when the reporter
supplies the patient’s full name. Mass casualty cases may be an exception.
If the patient is a minor (younger than 18), no information will be released
without the consent of a parent or legal guardian.
