Holston Valley Named In Top Three Hospitals In State By U.S. News & World Report

U.S. News & World Report has ranked Holston Valley Medical Center as one of Tennessee’s top three hospitals.

The magazine also has classified Holston Valley as high performing in 11 services, including cardiology and cancer. The results are part of the annual U.S. News & World Report Best Hospitals rankings, which recognize hospitals that excel in treating the most challenging patients. The tally is for 2013-14, the 24th year the magazine has compiled this list.

RTI International, a leading research organization, produced the specialty rankings, and U.S. News used that data to determine state and metro rankings.

U.S. News publishes Best Hospitals to help guide patients who need a high level of care because they might need a particularly difficult surgery or have an added risk because of other health problems or age. The magazine relied on objective measures such as patient survival and safety data and adequacy of nursing staffing levels in determining the rankings.
