Giving credit where credit's due
Have you wanted to recognize an exemplary co-worker but
weren't sure of the best way? How about a volunteer who went above and
beyond for you one day?
A recent Shepherd team at Bristol Regional Medical Center
found a way to help recognize one another with a new program called “The
Healing Hero.” The program was launched to recognize co-workers
and volunteers whose actions consistently characterize Wellmont Health
Every month, co-workers have the chance to submit someone
they see as a Healing Hero. After nominations have been reviewed, five award
recipients are invited to the monthly leadership meeting, where they will be
commended and given Healing Hero certificates, lapel pins and reserved parking
passes for a month. The Healing Heroes also have their photos and
handprints displayed on the Healing Hero wall outside of the human resources
department, as well as the opportunity to attend a private luncheon with
Bristol Regional’s interim president, Greg Neal.
“I recently had the pleasure of sharing lunch with Bristol
Regional’s first class of Healing Heroes. After meeting with these folks, it
became clear to me why they were nominated and just how lucky Bristol Regional
is to have them,” Neal said.
